Cat in the bag

These two are so different it’s ridiculous.

Pictured below is Tails. She is a true tuxedo cat. She is shy, scared of most things but loves to cuddle.

She hates loud noises but enjoys lounging in sun spots and home made forts.

Below is Mushka, she is a new age tuxedo, grey in color. Spunky and mischievous that one 😏 is all over the place. Literally every morning she has to see the birds morning routines. Even the neighborhood strays and her say they’re greetings.

She will carry a whole conversation with you too! She likes to get on our shoulders and lie down. Maybe she was a parrot in another life.

They are both great in their own ways. I’m just glad they can share the same space peacefully (well sometimes).

I actually call the baby, Mushka the monster, when she is bullying her sister. She goes through phases where all just wants is to play. Tails is never a fan.

She would just like to sleep alongside her and sniff her once in awhile. Haha!

It’s too late for turkey…

First, let’s be clear, I do not like the idea of celebrating Thanksgiving. I like to think of the holiday as a national day off to be with and eat with family an friends. It’s a day to be merry and not think about the pounds of food to gain.

It’s a day where almost everyone has time off to hopefully spend with friends or family. Or simply just relax and recoup. I know someone enjoying there time in Aruba and Prague. What a life they live. I wish I could travel more often. I’m working on it though! Soon I want to be able to travel every month, post and share with you all. Hopefully less driving so I don’t have so much anxiety but we will see. We can only hope for the best right now.

I spent this Thanksgiving with two of my most favorite families. People who give me joy, love, and comfort just with their presence. It’s was a lovely time with both. There was ham, turkey, dressing, potato salad, sweet potato casserole, broccoli casserole, yams, deviled eggs, and much more. Sitting with both, talking around great food and enjoying the energy of everyone. I definitely ate too much and was about to fall asleep right after. It totally hit me hard. I made it through after splashing my face with cold water. I made it back home and was able to spend some time with my baby.

He is an amazing person! He truly is, I’m not trying to make this about him but I truly am thankful for him. He massages my head neck and shoulders about every other night. Full disclaimer he loves playing in my hair. Even helps me do two strand twist and Bantu knots when requested. He is my saving grace. Calm, passionate and caring – something I wasn’t truly used to, until our 3rd year together. In July, we will be celebrating our 5-year anniversary. These 5 years have been amazing and life-changing. I have learned a lot about him and myself. He gives me full body [or close] massages like twice a week and I can tell him any and everything. He is my rock, he helps me keep it together and supports me in everything I do. I am thankful for meeting him on OKCupid. I’m thankful to how his calm and loving nature has molded me into a better woman today. He has done so many things that I may later have to share with you. I hope you have a partner as loving and kind as he. He is everything to me.

I am truly thankful for those I saw today as well as the bunch I wasn’t able to see. You all have made a dent in my life on many levels and you continue to support and love me for who I am. I love and appreciate you very much! I am thankful for having a home, job, car, life to live and family and friends who love and care about me. I am thankful for the people who continue to support my future goals and business. I am thankful for all the silly and weird people who are underappreciated and/or overlooked in this life. I could go on and on but I’d love to hear more about your Turkey day, or what you’re thankful for!

Until next time!

The ceiling is falling

So this is where I tell you another short story from the Forte’s & the Series of Unfortunate Events. These are hilariously personal stories, now available to you that I will never forget. Everything becomes so clear when I think about each story. So here goes…

Late afternoon, the girls and I just got off the school bus and are starting to head home. I open the door to hear my dad at the top of the hallway with his voice slightly raised talking to my mother. I could already see that in her body language that she wasn’t in the best mood. We proceeded to our rooms. My door was past my mother and father, I knew I’d have to likely participate in some type of language in passing. So I stepped forward with and asked: “Hey, what happened?” Before my dad could say anything my mom cut in to say that her leg was hurting and that our dad wasn’t being too helpful. She slowly worked the words out and mumbled, “I fell through the ceiling.” In a surprise, I shouted, “What, Where!?” I checked to see if she was okay and went through all of the basic. By this time my sisters are also gathered around my mother in the hallway and my dad has walked off. She told me where it happened and immediately us four girls froze. We were steps away from the incident, seeing it meant believing it. We were dying to see, I’m not sure if it was because we couldn’t believe the story or we just were so evil things that wanted to see and relive the moment. We jumped up and bolted to the hallway closet door which sat right under the attic doorway positioned in the ceiling. We opened the door to look up and there it was, this big gaping hole in the top right of the ceiling. It was a site to see, seeing it was believing it. Believing it led us to the imagination and reliving it. Seconds later the four of us lost it and were on the floor laughing off calories. My mom just looked at us in disappointment.

Someone once said: “It’s not funny until someone gets hurt, then it’s hilarious.” My poor mom, hahaha I’m sure she wasn’t too happy with her loved ones that day. Later once we got it all together my mom added, “your dad’s first words to me when my leg came through the ceiling was honey, I thought you knew what you were doing.” The squad has lost it again, we couldn’t help ourselves. I’m still trying to find out how my dad didn’t lose himself in laughter. I guess we get it from our mama. 🙂

Until next time
