Who says I am thirty years young?…. *Cough Cough* well, for starters my mom, the government. But you know who to say. Bae thinks I have been seven years old this entire time we have been dating. Heck I’d be fourteen if you just counted the birthdays we’ve had together.
Anyway, all that to say. I am a child in the eyes of most men. Here, let me prove it!
I am on Instagram TickTock Facebook and Twitter. I have several accounts I do the most with my personal account (ohhsilly) it’s more of the day to day shenanigans 😬. This is the only place for blogging you now.
Until next time, xoxo

Screaming “Hell yessssss!” to this warmer weather. I’m so glad I can start taking layers off of this chocolate skin. The sun is out and about sharing it’s rays. As … Continue reading Spring is here!
So I return home to a bunch of chaos in the kitchen. My sisters are ducked off laughing about the commotion. I peek over and my mom is huddled over my dad. He has a towel folder under him and she has several in the near vicinity. She also has hydrogen peroxide, q-tips, and other random tools. At first, I was really worried and thought the girls were being mean.
That was until I heard…
My dad claimed that a bee flew into his ear. He had a face of stone, so I guess he couldn’t be kidding. He kept saying he could hear a buzzing inside, I couldn’t help to bust out laughing. I just kept thinking he had lost it. I mean it was a great laugh. One I’ll never forget, that’s for sure.
I never found out if the bee was legit in his ear. BUT WHY SHOULD I? I will forever be content with the idea of it in there in the first place. Was it trying to get wax? Was the bee drunk? I could go on and on, til the laughter brings tears.
Angelica is just as silly as all of the other little dolls, she was designed to be awkward as well as contribute to her friendly and quirky personality. Lastly, Lily … Continue reading Meet Angelica!
Pro-Black doesn’t mean anti-white or any other anti-culture. According to Urban dictionary “Pro black – is a lifestyle that encourages the economic growth and development of the black people as a whole with a purpose of increasing the wealth and population of black people around the world. Whether it be spending money with black own business in your communities or online. Promoting the love for black people and encouraging black youth is it’s soul purposes to keep uplifting black people in America to be proud and at the same time.” Pro is Latin for “forward” or “for”. So my understanding is that without context Pro American means they have a favorable opinion of America. Truthfully though, there’s not a clear definition of pro-Black because so many people have different approaches to it. Full disclaimer, this entire post comes from someone who predominately had a mixed group of friends. This isn’t to discredit my opinion, just to elaborate on a different experience than your typical bro-black advocate.
I was told I couldn’t be pro-black if I don’t date within my own race. As an African American woman, you expect me to date within my race because of the past? Those and like minds present then are outnumbered now. We live in a different world now, one in which prejudices have grown but tolerance and respect are more desired of a citizen. Including the help of my other half, I’ve gone natural and experienced the growing pains that come with it. He has pushed a lot of my own culture back into my life. I have also learned to accept and respect everyone else’s opinion on the initial matter.
Regardless of anyone else, I would definitely consider myself pro-black. I will say, I’m not as educated in black history and culture as I would like but there is time for learning. The best example for me to give about this is to say your religious values in your denomination could be far off from some in the same denomination. In their differences don’t make them any less a part of their religion. You can feel entitled to your opinion – I just feel as though these things are all subjective. So who are you to judge? I do not have to agree with the words or actions of every black person to be Pro Black.
Interracial dating is doable for someone “labeled” Pro Black. As long as you have “a partner who is compassionate and empathizes with the same or similar values concerning the black community.
Ah welp! Until next time!
For you who said you eat a lot because you’re lonely.
For you who said you sleep a lot because you’re bored.
For you who said you cry a lot because you are sad.
I write to you.
Chew your cornered heart like rice.
For no matter what, life is for you to digest.A poem from Let’s Eat (the last episode, translated to English)
I wanted to write a post about my obsession with Korean dramas. it also ends up turning to be about eating and happiness in numbers.
Korean dramas always made me feel inconsiderate and ignorant, in the best way I mean. Watching the “soap opera- like” show brought a sense of culture shock too. It is insane to see what is presented to the public from their culture. The women in these shows seem to withstand a lot of drama, emotion and family issues mostly due to tradition, however, they eighty-five percent of the time quietly succeed in their goals or wants. It is empowering and interesting to watch.
I have watched several dramas more than once, like “This is love, 100-year inheritance, Boy over flowers, Strong girl Bon soon, noble my love, one more time, oh my ghost, 12-year promise, Miss Panda and the Hedgehog and so many more. Korean dramas have also helped me realized eating with those you love and care about is one of the best memories and experiences to have. Throughout most of the shows, you can see they gather in groups to have big meals. Whether it’s a special occasion or it’s something quaint and cute the shows overall tend to eat well and be merry while doing so. My mouth waters as I watch them serve and dig into the various meals.
Eating good food is a pleasure in itself. The joy of each crunch. I want to celebrate as much as I can with good food and good company. Those are the only memories I cherish the most. I really have been thinking about this since I have watched the Korean drama “Let’s Eat!” on Netflix. So I will look into planning some type of eating event coming soon :). I also believe this is why I enjoy trying new foods. Born and raised Southern American was quite the limited palette, at least in my life.
My mother was and still is a great cook, she made several healthy decisions for us example salmon, baked chicken and a balanced portion of fruits and veggies were there. As they should be! I never had the luxury of other cultured foods growing up, my mother was too old-fashioned and unaware of much else. My mother know eats Chinese (dim-sum included), Korean, Peruvian, Thai, most Spanish and Meditteranean. I don’t think we will ever venture out to trying sushi, she can’t get past the idea of raw fish lol. Anyway, I’m happy to say that with the help of me and my two sisters making her try new stuff she has come a long way to having a diverse tongue.
I was sitting in my room thinking of all the great memories I can remember or find photos of. I can remember that most of them involved family, food and/or friends. Amazing food and good people is the easiest way to make one happy, I’m just saying my opinion.
Try watching Let’s Eat for a more understanding of what I mean by eating in numbers. Or try watching any of the listed above shows to see what I have such a fascination with this style/culture of fiction. I hope that you can appreciate as much as I do.
Until next time!

I have moved in with my boyfriend and we have united the fur babies. We are one big family.
My job has drastically changed to something more rewarding and interesting.
Also, let’s not forget there are so many things I want to share with you these coming up.
Ultimately though, I am most excited to co-exist with my other half. That we get to create and live in a space that we can call our own. In this space, we will continue to grow as individuals as well as a whole unit.
I have already started planning out dinner meals, grocery list and a list of my daily and weekly goals. I’m super excited to share our positive energy, mutual goals, and passions in a three-dimensional canvas that we get to co-design. I also can’t wait to share what we have come up with.
Until next time!

“I’m gonna pop some tags, only got twenty dollars in my pocket!” -Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
Looking for a come up. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis had it right. I have been thrifting since late 2005. I shop for cool little pieces, clothing, furniture, and sometimes fabric/textiles. It’s rare that I wear sneakers and I totally don’t own velcros. I don’t go to goodwill often but it is a stop to make. I generally don’t spend more than three-fifty for something unless it is ahhhmazing! I have gotten many things from the thrift store and I’m not ashamed, at all.
As they say, someone’s trash could be an others treasure. It easy to throw things away nowadays, there are always newer, nicer more updated things coming out. But what you replace could be exactly what someone wanted or needed. With that being said for those always wanting to get rid of things. Donating those things to a good cause would be helpful for those unfortunate. Yes, there is more involved to actually do this versus throwing your times away. Trust me I know! I had 6 bags to get rid of and a box of shoes. That is a lot to lug around versus throwing in my residential trash bin. Just remember it may not be immediate but you are passing it forward and someone is truly grateful. I donate my clothes as well and that does include items that I found thrifting as well.
I go thrifting for many different things but I have ended up with like a million dresses. I never even go in without something(s) in mind. This isn’t to say I always get what I’m looking for but I also never come out empty handed. My last haul consisted of an oversized sweater that I plan to rock this fall/winter, a black see-through top, a button down, groovy vest and jean overall dress. I still can’t even remember why I went in.
When you go thrifting you need to ensure you:
Things I personally don’t buy at the thrift store are underwear, piercing jewelry, socks, shoes, swimwear, lingerie, most hats, and hosiery. I’m sure the items are cleaned at some point and ready for sale as they are ticketed on the shelf. Or I could be naive. And if so please let me be, I rather imagine the cleaning process, haha. Either way, I do not buy those items, I’m simply just too much into my own hygiene.
(pictures of these and other thrift pieces scattered throughout).
So I hope that you have been inspired to thrift. I hope you get out there and find something ahhhmazing! Feel free to share your stories or items you have found. I will be sharing more of my items on Instagram with #oythrifts Sharing is caring 🙂
